| dc.description.en | The excellent teaching known as "Letter to a Friend" was given to King Dechö Zangpo (as he is known in Tibetan) by Arya Nagarjuna, the great founder foretold by Buddha as the one who would give impetus to Mahayana teachings. Its importance in Tibetan tradition is indicated by the fact that over the centuries several dozen commentaries of various lengths were written on it by important scholar lamas of all schools. The root text presents the entire vision, activities and meditation that constitute the path to enlightenment.
