Title: | Come attivare bodhicitta nella vita quotidiana - How to Develop Bodhicitta in Daily Life | Other Title: | How to Develop Bodhicitta in Daily Life | Teacher: | Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoce | Categories: | Categories Vocabulary::Study subjects::Mind training | Tradition: | Gelug | Issue Date: | 12-Sep-1983 | Principal Language: | en | Translation Language: | it | Description: | The word Bodhicitta (sanskrit) literally means “an open heart”. An open heart is Bodhichitta. Each of us already has a certain degree of openness, however the question is about how to develop it and keep it growing. Bodhicitta means that all living beings struggle with the problems caused by own ego symptoms and attachment, fuelling self-pity. If you want to reach a universal level of compassion, rather than perpetuate the limited view of yourself and only looking at your own problems, we need to go beyond. When we take a broader look at the world and see how much sentient beings suffer, our difficulties disappear so that a space of openness is psychologically created. Furthermore, we realize that we are able to take responsibility for the fact that it is possible, if we develop ourselves perfectly and wholly, to truly lead all beings to perfection, liberation and enlightenment. In fact, it is possible. The awakening mind, bodhicitta is not emotional love. By understanding the relative nature of sentient beings, seeing their highest destination and developing the will to bring everyone to that state of enlightenment, the mind is infused with a love born of wisdom, not emotion. Bodhicitta is not a doctrine, it is a state of mind. Its inner experience is completely individual. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11996/470 | Other Identifiers: | AAU-EHFYADEXS | Content restrictions: | LIBERO | Access Mode: | LIBERO |
