Description: The three main aspects of the path are: renunciation, bodhicitta (altruistic mind) and sunyata (emptiness). Without an adequate understanding of these three aspects, any meditation will not become the basis for enlightenment but the cause of conditioned existence. If we have not understood the origins of our suffering and have not developed the desire to liberate of it, we cannot understand others and therefore we cannot develop bodhicitta. Once we have generated renunciation and bodhicitta, we will have to develop the wisdom that allows us to eliminate all mental defects that hinder our practice of Dharma, that is, the correct understanding of the reality of phenomena, emptiness.
