Abstract: Teachings only for monks and nuns.
Description: During the three-month retreat (Tib. Dbyar-gnas; Sanskrit: varshaka) in the rainy season, the monks stayed in one place and avoided travelling so as not to trample the crops when they had to cross the fields because the roads were flooded. The birth of the monasteries is due to the custom of retreat in the rainy season.
