Abstract: In Tibetan: “Short Treatise on the Stages of the Path”; also called Lam rim 'bring ba (“Intermediate Treatise on the Stages of the Path”)
Description: The Lamrim, literally “stages of the path”, presents a systematic and gradual cultivation of the Buddhist inner path to enlightenment, explained from the point of view of three “types of individuals”. Je Tsongkhapa (1357-1419) composed his own commentary on Atisha's text “A Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment”, having for title Lamrim Chenmo, also known as “The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path”. But he also composed two other versions of this text, known as Lamrim “Medium-Length Exposition of the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment”. These three are included among the most famous Lamrim commentaries.
